Oxygen Therapy

Celebrating oxygen to rejuvenate life

Oxygen hyperbaric therapy is a revolutionary treatment where a patient relaxes in a comfortable chamber filled with 100% pure oxygen.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) is a painless and specialised oxygen therapy that involves breathing 100% oxygen whilst in a hyperbaric chamber at increased atmospheric pressure (higher than normal air pressure). Hyperbaric Oxygen acts as a drug, eliciting varying levels of response at different dosages.

In a Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy chamber, the air pressure is gradually increased two to three times higher than normal air pressure. Under these conditions, your lungs are able to absorb much more oxygen. When your blood carries this extra oxygen throughout your body, it helps stimulate the release of substances called growth factors and stem cells, which promote healing.

How does the session look like?

A single session lasts, depending on your choice, from 30 to 60 minutes. You stay in the chamber in a sitting or lying position on a comfortable reclining chair.

The session begins with a few minutes of “immersion” (increasing the pressure in the chamber to a given parameter), then oxygen is administered at the highest level of pressure inside the chamber, and the treatment ends with a few minutes of “emergence” (each time the compression and decompression time is set individually for you, in order to ensuring the greatest possible comfort).

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Is The Only Effective Method Of Delivering Oxygen To All Body Cells.

FAQ

Is Oxygen therapy safe?

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is an approved therapy by the FDA/UHMS for numerous indications, and it should be prescribed under the supervision of a qualified physician. Although not totally without risk, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is considered to be safe and generally very well tolerated when it is administered appropriately.

Some people may experience mild side effects like ear discomfort, sinus pain, or fatigue during or after treatment. These side effects are typically temporary.

The risks will be discussed with you before you sign your consent form for therapy.

How to prepare for oxygen therapy?

Before the procedure, you should eat a light meal (preferably 2-3 hours before), carbonated drinks should be avoided for 4 hours before the session, and on the day of the procedure, refrain from drinking alcohol in any form.

Complete make-up removal is also necessary, and please do not use any creams or lotions 2 hours before the treatment.

People with a nicotine addiction should refrain from smoking at least 4 hours before entering the capsule. Reason? Cigarette smoking limits the effects of hyperbaric oxygen therapy by blocking the passage of oxygen through the alveolar barrier in the lungs, reducing blood flow through the pulmonary vessels and lowering the concentration of oxygen in the blood.

Before entering to the chamber we ask you to:

remove jewellery and all metal elements and dentures,
put on cotton, comfortable clothes (without any metal elements).

How should I do after Oxygen therapy session?

Slow Decompression: You will not exit the hyperbaric chamber immediately. The pressure inside the chamber is gradually reduced to allow your body to adapt to the change in pressure. This process is known as decompression.

Ear Equalization: During the decompression phase, you may need to perform ear equalization techniques to relieve any pressure in your ears. This is similar to what divers do when ascending from underwater. Chewing gum, swallowing, or performing the Valsalva maneuver (gently blowing out while pinching your nose) can help equalize the pressure in your ears.

Rest and Hydrate: It’s a good idea to rest and hydrate after a hyperbaric oxygen therapy session. Drinking water can help rehydrate your body, and getting some rest can allow your body to recover.

Follow Medical Advice: Your doctor may provide specific post-treatment instructions based on your condition and the specific protocol used. It’s important to follow these instructions carefully.

How many treatments will I need, and how often?

The number and frequency of treatments required varies with the specific condition that is being treated. Some conditions, might be treated in five visits. For many conditions, one treatment a day (Monday through Friday) is given for a total of 20 to 30 treatments, usually a total of four to six weeks.
